Description
This course is a seminar where we will discuss the latest scientific research in epigenetic mechanisms (changes to gene expression without changing underlying DNA sequences) and their role in regulating health and behavior of humans and other mammals in response to environmental stimuli. Our focus will be on publications related to social and behavioral epigenetics phenomena. Recommended preparation: students should have research experience in a molecular lab. Prerequisites: upper-division standing. ANBI 130 or ANBI 131 or ANBI 134 or ANBI 135 or consent of instructor.
