Description
This course considers the diverse forms of capitalist money and money relations, including the historical significance of metals like silver and gold, the relationship between money and finance, and new developments like Bitcoin and the promise of other emergent digital technologies. The goal of the course is to better understand the centrality of money in capitalist relations, including its most contemporary forms. Prerequisites: upper-division standing.
