Description
This course is one of several about the dominant manner of organizing life on the planet: capitalism. It focuses on the nation-state as the preeminent capitalist political form and explores how specific ones around the world have developed in different ways. The goal of the course is to better understand what capitalist states are and what they do, including especially their economic and military activities. Prerequisites: upper-division standing.
