Description
This course examines ethnographies of the US-Mexican borderlands to understand how the binational relationship shapes social life on both sides of the border. Topics discussed will include the maquiladora industry, drug trafficking, militarization, migration, tourism, missionary work, femicide, and prostitution. Prerequisites: upper-division standing or consent of instructor.
