Description
This course examines the way that the United States became a world power during the twentieth century and up to the present. It addresses the question of whether this nation-state can be understood as an imperial power in the same way as other colonial empires. The course focuses on the economic, political, sociocultural, and ecological dimensions of United States’ world-power status. Prerequisites: upper-division standing.
