Description
Developmental biology of animals at the tissue, cellular, and molecular levels. Basic processes of embryogenesis in a variety of invertebrate and vertebrate organisms. Cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie cell fate determination and cell differentiation. More advanced topics such as pattern formation and sex determination are discussed. Recommended preparation: BICD 110 and BIMM 100. Prerequisites: upper-division standing; BICD 100 or BICD 100R and BIBC 100 or BIBC 102 or CHEM 114A or CHEM 114B.
