Description
This diversity, equity, and inclusion course requirement approved course explores the power of place in the formation and representation of Latinx identities and communities in Southern California. It highlights past and current struggles to recuperate and sustain a sense of place for marginalized and displaced peoples against the colonization and racialization of formerly indigenous and Mexican territory. Students conduct research in various locations at the center of the cultural politics of Latinx place-making.
