Description
This course explores historical issues in Asian American history, focusing on major topics such as immigration, colonization, war, community, social movements, and politics. We use sources such as scholarly writing, primary documents, cultural productions, and creative work to inform our analysis. Assignments are designed to provoke active discussion and lead to a critical understanding of the links between history and our present-day political and socioeconomic context. Students may receive credit for one of the following: ETHN 125R or ETHN 125.
