Description

Both Buddhism and social movements promote liberation, but they sometimes seem at odds. This online course examines how these two worlds converge, and confluences and tension that result. The course analyzes the role of Buddhism in a range of social movements, such as social justice, animal liberation, ecojustice, and peace movements. Special attention is given to how Engaged Buddhist practices might be used as a tool of liberation from systemic suffering to empower people and communities.
