Description
This course provides a critical examination of the Chicana/o movement of the 1960s and 1970s. The course will focus on the social, economic, and political factors that contributed to the formation of the collective struggle known as El Movimiento. Topics engaged in this course are racism, education, political disenfranchisement, immigration, labor, sexism, art and poetry, Chicana feminism, anti-war efforts, economic justice, religion, and interracial relations.
