Description
Through the study of selected core texts, this course explores the revival of classical culture and values, the reaction against medieval ideas concerning the place of human beings in the world, the intellectual and political consequences of the Protestant Reformation, and the philosophical background to the scientific revolution. Revelle students must take course for letter grade. Students may receive credit for one of the following: HUM 3, HUM 3R, or HUM 3GS. Prerequisites: satisfaction of the UC Entry Level Writing requirement and acceptance into Global Seminar Program.
