Description
This course examines the city of Rome from a cultural, literary, and historical perspective. Topics to be addressed include: urbanization, antiquity, Baroque design, pilgrimage, performativity, politics, and foreign visitors (including Goethe, Dickens, Keats, the Shelleys, Fuller, and others). Program or materials fees may apply. Prerequisites: department approval required. Students must apply and be accepted to the Global Seminars Program.
