(Cross-listed with SIO 203C.) Perturbation theory, asymptotic methods and asymptotic expansions. Approximate methods for linear and nonlinear differential equations, such as WKB, the method of multiple scales and boundary layer theory. Prerequisites: MAE 294B or SIO 203B or SIO 215B or consent of instructor.
