Description
(Cross-listed with NANO 269.) Fundamentals of photovoltaic energy conversion; limiting efficiencies, loss mechanisms. Nanoscale effects in semiconductor, thin film, and organic photovoltaics. Emphasis on emerging nanotechnologies including nanowires, heterostructures, hybrid materials, quantum dots, transparent conducting materials, and plasmonics. Prerequisites: graduate standing.
