Description
Problems and figures in history of logic. Subject matter varies, in some cases a single author or text (e.g., Aristotle, The Port Royal Logic, Leibniz, Kant, Frege, Tarski), in others a particular tradition or problem (e.g., Hilbert’s Program, intuitionism, quantification, logicism and psychologism, modality). Prerequisites: PHIL 120 or consent of instructor.
