PHIL 153. Philosophy and Animals (4 units)

Description
An examination of one or more philosophical issues pertaining to animals. Topics will vary and may address animal ethics, animal minds, animals in the philosophy of science or conservation, metaphysical or epistemological questions related to animals, or the treatment of animals in a particular tradition or period in the history of philosophy. May be repeated for credit two times with change of content. Prerequisites: upper-division standing or consent of instructor.
