Description
This course may include topics in the philosophy of film, such as the nature of the cinematic medium, the aesthetic qualities of film, when film is art, how film is different from other artistic forms, the role of emotion, imagination, and thought in our experience of films, and why we enjoy horror and tragic movies. It may also discuss the philosophy in film by exploring how cinema engages with topics such as agency, responsibility, personal identity, justice, happiness, love, gender, etc.
