Description
This course consists of a series of practical epidemiological infectious and non-infectious disease paper- and computer-based exercises. Students will have the opportunity to apply their epidemiological and biostatistical skills to real-world situations. The course is highly interactive and challenges students’ knowledge and critical thinking capacities. Students will give presentations, write a scientific abstract and press release, and develop a poster. Must be taken for a letter grade to be applied to the public health major. Prerequisites: PH 40 or FMPH 40 and PH 101 or FMPH 101. Restricted enrollment to sophomore, junior, and senior standing. Renumbered from FMPH 171. Students may not receive credit for both FMPH 171 and PH 171.
