Description
This course introduces master’s students to qualitative research methods, emphasizing the strategies and applications of this methodology in public health, health justice, and community-engaged research. Through lectures, group work, interactive sessions, and practical exercises, students will gain foundational knowledge and skills in qualitative research. Topics also include theoretical foundations of research, biocultural ethics, and the advantages of numerous qualitative inquiry techniques. Prerequisites: must be enrolled in MPH program (PB75 and PB88). Students cannot receive credit for PH 442 if they have already completed FMPH 491 subtitled “Qualitative Research Methods.”
