Description
This course will focus on the health and economic burden of non-communicable diseases (NCD) globally, understanding global patterns of major diseases and disease categories (cancer, CVD, diabetes, obesity) and health behaviors (smoking, diet, physical activity), global health policy and advocacy, and intervention strategies and evaluation of health programs related to global NCD. We will cover select global health issues in a format allowing for in-depth discussion. Prerequisites: must be enrolled in MPH program (PB75, PB87, PB88, PB89, PB90, and PB91) or program approval. Renumbered from FMPH 462. Students may not receive credit for both FMPH 462 and PH 462.
