PSYC 219. Writing about Thinking (4 units)

Description
Students will study the cognitive faculties that govern our ability to read for comprehension, along with the opportunities and challenges they create for writers. By reading and discussing primary research, and through feedback on their own writing, students will learn to apply psychological science to the writing activities of psychological scientists (scientific reports, literature reviews, grant proposals, communication with colleagues and students, and writing for the general public). Prerequisites: restricted to students with the major codes PC76 or PC78 or PC79, or consent of instructor and graduate standing.
