Description
Introduction to advanced composite materials and their applications. Fiber and matrix properties, micromechanics, stiffness, ply-by-ply stress, hygrothermal behavior, and failure prediction. Lab activity will involve design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of composite structure. Program or materials fees may apply. Prerequisites: SE 110A (or MAE 131A) and SE 110B.
