Description

Discrete random signals; conventional (FFT based) spectral estimation. Coherence and transfer function estimation; model-based spectral estimation; linear prediction and AR modeling, Levinson-Durbin algorithm and lattice filters, minimum variance spectrum estimation. Coscheduled with ECE 251A. Recommended preparation: ECE 153, Probability, or ECE 250, Random Processes; ECE 161A, Introduction to Digital Signal Processing; ECE 251C, Filter Banks and Wavelets; ECE 269, Linear Algebra and Application, or equivalent and SIOC 207A, Fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing, or equivalent. Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor.
