Description
This course covers the fundamentals of ocean acidification, including the chemical background; past and future changes in ocean chemistry; biological and biogeochemical consequences, including organism and ecosystem function; biodiversity; biomineralization; carbonate dissolution; and the cycling of carbon and nitrogen in the oceans. May be coscheduled with SIOG 264. Prerequisites: PHYS 1C or PHYS 2C and CHEM 6C or CHEM 6CH, or consent of instructor.
