SIO 146. Methods in Cell and Developmental Biology of Marine Organisms Lab (6 units)

Description
This laboratory course will introduce students to modern concepts and techniques in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, through authentic research projects using echinoderm, mollusk, and coral species. In addition to designing and performing experiments, students will learn to evaluate data, work with DNA sequences, quantify results with statistics, prepare figures, read primary research literature, write and review scientific research articles, and give scientific presentations. Prerequisites: BILD 2 or consent of instructor.
