Description
This course examines key developments in sociological theory in the mid-twentieth century, especially functionalism, psychoanalytic sociology and the Frankfurt School, mass society, conflict theory, symbolic interactionism, and ethnomethodology. The middle of the twentieth century was a period of great vibrancy in sociology and had significant influence on sociological ideas in the broader culture, especially in the United States of America. Prerequisites: upper-division standing.
