Description
This course examines the complex historical, cultural, and social psychological landscape surrounding the concept of romantic (as opposed to platonic or familial) love, culminating with a critical analysis of the changing nature of intimate relationships in modern American society. Accordingly, this course will address concepts and insights at the intersection of many subfields: culture, gender, sexuality, family, social networks, social psychology, and computer-mediated communication. Prerequisites: upper-division standing.
