Description
This interdisciplinary studio course instructs students in the ways artists use performance to engage the public. Through workshops and in-class assignments, students will create performances responding to a range of public cultural practices from social activism to popular entertainment. Research projects into artists who critically intervene in these spheres will inform students’ original performance art projects that engage and explore the embodied and linguistic modalities of the public. Prerequisites: VIS 104A.
