Description
Introduction to virtual environments in the field of computational and new media arts. The course offers a historical survey of related topics, relevant theoretical and conceptual frameworks, and an introduction to practical skills development for project creation. Topics may include 2-D and 3-D world building, game engines, and immersive and responsive environments. Materials fees required. Prerequisites: VIS 142; CSE 11 recommended. Open to visual arts majors and ICAM minors only. Two production-course limitation.
