Description
This course explores the role of migration in the process of economic development. We look at internal migration in developing countries and international migration from the perspective of migrant-sending countries. Topics include barriers to migration, rural-urban mobility and structural change, remittances, emigration policy, smuggling and intermediaries, and the development consequences of international migration at both the micro and macro level. Prerequisites: GPCO 453 and GPCO 454.
