Description
This course focuses on the drivers and potential policy solutions to environmental challenges facing Asia, including detailed treatment of climate change and air pollution, and their nexus with other aspects of environmental degradation. Key features—engineering, economics, and politics—of energy systems necessary to understand the issues will be covered, and how markets and institutions have coevolved with these infrastructures in the region. We look at China, India, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Students may not earn credit for GPPA 470 and the GPGN 490 course with the same title.
